Professor Gordon Xu is a senior group leader in Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, UQ.
His research interests lie in development of functionalised nanoparticles for target delivery of various therapeutics (antigens, genes and drugs) to treat tumour and infection diseases through promoting the specific immune responses and enhance photothermal treatment, genotherapy and chemotherapy.
Prof Xu is also interested in applying these nanoparticle-based platforms to deliver herbicides and dsRNA to control weeds, viruses and microbial diseases for plant and animal protection.
