Dr Catherine Gordon is a postdoctoral researcher at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, and lecturer in Parasitology at the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology. Their research is focused on using molecular tools to understand the biology and epidemiology of a range of parasitic diseases including schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminths, and intestinal protozoa. They is particularly focused on developing rapid point-of-care diagnostics for use ‘in the field’ where these parasitic diseases occur to allow for rapid treatment and accurate prevalence data to better understand epidemiology of disease.
