Professor Alexander Khromykh is the Deputy-Director of the Australian Infectious Diseases Research Centre.
He studies the West Nile Virus (WNV), specifically the molecular mechanisms of replication, virus assembly, and virus-host interactions.
WNV belongs to the flaviviruses, which affect more than 50 million people per year.
