Congratulations to AID-supported researchers at Lorne Infection & Immunity 2026

As a co-host of the 16th Lorne Infection & Immunity Conference 2026, the Australian Infectious Diseases (AID) Research Centre was proud to support 15 researchers across all career stages to attend and present at this year’s meeting. Congratulations to three Queensland researchers who received conference awards:

Best Poster by a Student — Seb Grant
UQ Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland

Best Science Bites by a Student — Thishan Illankoon
Mater Research Institute, The University of Queensland

Drummer Co-Convenors’ Prize — Dr James Curson
UQ Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland

Both Thishan Illankoon and James Curson were also recipients of an AID Travel Bursary, supporting their participation in the conference.
